Dayton TN @ Blue Water Marina (7/12/21) Nice marina/campground tucked into a river! Took the dinghy into town to shop and go to Monkey Town Brewery!
Watts Bar TN @ Euchee Marina (7/13/21)
Buck Creek TN @ anchor (7/14/21) Beautiful sunset, quiet spot, but oh the bugs! Anyone heard of seed ticks? Well, we have now! These minuscule nymph ticks can swarm your legs in seconds. Kent had read about them the previous day in one of our navigation books, which warned us of these ticks on a particular island. We took Bodie over to an abandoned campsite and had no issues. The next morning, trying to save time, we took him to an island next to our anchorage. Kent was ahead of me about 30 feet and Bodie had gone over to a clearing. All of a sudden Kent starts yelling for us to get back to the boat. He had thousands of these tiny ticks crawling up his legs! He ran into the water and tried to rub them off. I gathered Bodie but we did not seem to have them on us. Needless to say, Kent took a long shower and luckily had no side effects.
Knoxville TN @ Volunteer Landing Marina (7/15-19/21) So excited to see our nephew Ryan, his wife Samantha and their two adorable kids Zoey (9 years) and Roman (1 year)! Loved cruising the river into Knoxville, passing the Vols Stadium and exploring this fun town! The marina was close to the downtown area, so we were able to walk to some delicious restaurants, breweries and catch the trolley to learn a little history of the “King of Rock and Roll”! We took Ryan and his family on a Daydream cruise which included a stop for swimming and I think a highlights for Zoey was a ride in the dinghy! We had a great time visiting family and enjoying some lovely wine, cheese and fresh oysters!
