Week 17
10/19-20/20 Dismal Swamp VA
Actually, not as dismal as one would think, although the mosquitos were
plentiful. Walked around the welcome center which had many warnings of bears,
snakes, bobcats and ticks! Also a
display of an old distillery!
10/21-23/20 Elizabeth City & Belhaven NC
Going to Elizabeth City was interesting as it was one of the places Kent was
offered when he transferred out of Florida. Cruised past the blimp storage
barn. That was when we moved to Peachtree City.
Belhaven was a blast as we happen to be parked next to a “whole hog BBQ cook
off”! The tastes and smells were amazing! Reminded us of our NASCAR trips with
all the smokers, campers, and friendly people! We ended up buying 5 lbs. of
smoked pork! Yes, we still have some in the freezer! The sunset was Amazing,
another evening where it just kept getting better!
10/24/20 Pamlico River
Nice anchorage near a national park.
10/25-27/20 Washington and New Bern NC
More beautiful water, great breweries, and fine food!
