Week 1 of West Coast Florida into the river system. (May 1-8, 2021)

 

We said good-bye to the May family and went north on the west coast of Florida to Clearwater.

It was good to be cruising again, but I sure miss our sweet baby Nyjah, Arya and Molly!

Madeira Beach (5/1/21) Anchored out near the causeway, beautiful anchorage with great BBQ nearby!

Clearwater FL (5/2/21) Anchored in Mandalay Channel. Clearwater is perfectly named. The water is a beautiful effervescent green/blue! Adorable Florida homes and waterfront restaurants!

Dunedin FL (5/3-4/21) Marker 1 Marina. Had a lovely escort of dolphins. It’s so cool to cruise by the Gulf openings, see the beaches and lovely water!

Tarpon Springs (5/5-7/21) Tarpon Springs Municipal Marina. What a Great Town! Huge Greek influence which includes delicious Greek food and wine. Fun breweries and people! I went to the Sponge factory and watched a video on how the sponge industry started and how sponges are prepared for use.

Crystal River (5/8-9/21) Anchored in King’s Bay. Nice town with a park for Bodie, pretty dinghy ride to the store and Great Tiki bar with live music! Enjoyed a "blue moon" lunch with an old friend, Rick Marr, including live music! Wonderful Mother's Day!
