Week 13 (August 1-31) Bonus Baby pictures and Exclusive pictures of Bradley, Jordan and Luna!

August 2021

Haletown TN @ Hales Bar Marina (August 1-31)

We are keeping Daydream at Hales Bar Marina for the month of August. Thank you Jennifer for coming to pick us up so we can take a short trip to Peachtree City! So much fun to see friends and family! Thank you Mark & Sue for the loan of your car. Would have been a REALLY LONG bike ride to Chattanooga!🚴

Kent stayed at Hales Bar Marina with Bodie and worked on getting recertified in hang-gliding. He was able to get in a couple tows behind the ultralight and fly at Lookout Mountain Fly Park! One of his main goals for stopping here. We found Top of the Rock Brewery, above the marina! Delicious beer, food and a magnificent view! There was also a beautiful park honoring Coach Pat Summitt of the Lady Vols basketball team!

Hales Bar Dam was the first multipurpose hydroelectric dam built on a navigable river (Tennessee River near Lake Nickajack) in the world. Construction began in 1905, and workers didn't complete the project until 1913. Soon after completion, the dam began to leak because of the soft bedrock foundation it was built on. Hales Bar Dam never functioned properly, and after a failure in the 1960s, the dam was demolished! There was flooding in the area behind it, which included a cemetery filled with hundreds of graves, mostly children who had died during the 1918-1919 Spanish Flu epidemic.

Having spent time with some of the locals, there are many stories of paranormal activity in the dam. Here is a link to additional information for those believers. 👻

They do have Haunted Dam tours in October and are currently building a distillery inside a section of the dam.

August 8-25 I went to Bradenton to stay with Arya, Molly and Nyjah! Nyjah had grown so much since April and she now turning 5 months. Hanging out with them we had so much fun with baths, exploring toys, taking walks, trying new things to eat, listening and dancing to music! We went out for oysters, sushi, daiquiris, and went to the beach!

August 26-31 We took Daydream back to Erwin’s River Front Dock, in Chattanooga, to visit with our good friend Mike. We enjoyed some good food, beer, music, and Mike made a trip to the aquarium! We took a walk at the Chattanooga National Military Park, located west of Chattanooga up on the ridge, with sweeping views of the Tennessee River. We visited the famous “Choo Choo” and tasted some locally distilled vodka and gin.

I want to share some amazing pictures we’ve received from Bradley and Jordan! They have had some wonderful adventures exploring the Great Northwest and Jordan has captured some beautiful images! Their adorable puppy, Luna, had a difficult year with a couple of injuries to her leg, but with their love and support she is recovering. We sure miss not being able to see them regularly, but they are loving Seattle and are growing in their careers. Love you All!
