February 2022
2/6-8/22 New Bern NC We’d been to New Bern by car, but first time by boat. Enjoyed walking the “old homes” tour with lovely architecture! Historical churches, birth place of pepsi (I have the original recipe if anyone is interested), adorable bears and amazing sunset!
2/10/22 Hobucken NC, RE Mayo Seafood Dock
2/11/22 Oriental NC Nice museum, massive shrimp boats, beautiful homes, delicious small fish café and lovely waterfront! Parked next to a Huge wooden shrimp boat that we were just hoping was not going to try and pull out while we were still parked.
2/11-14/22 Belhaven NC Came back specifically to go to the Spoonbill Restaurant. It did not disappoint! We were able to meet the owner and lovely servers who brought us our “free” dinner a year and a half ago! Great night with delicious food, wine and atmosphere with my Valentine!
2/15/22 Alligator Marina
2/16-18/22 Edenton NC Love finding old traditional lighthouses, learning about the different types and a bit of history. The large 1886 Roanoke River Lighthouse was a residence as well. After 100 years of surviving harsh weather, war and being transported 3 times, with much effort, time and dedication to saving the lighthouse, this beauty was decommissioned in 1941 was moved to private land in Edenton. Unfortunately, it continued to deteriorate until 2007-2010 when the Edenton Historical Society purchased and restored it. The interior was restored in 2014. Had a lovely meal, oysters and martinis’, right at the marina and many fun shops, beer garden and lovely homes!
2/25-27/22 Manteo NC This is such a great walking town with a wooden boat display, another beautiful lighthouse, and The Lost Colony National Park.
It was lovely meeting you two! Hope you 2 the best on your travels! Stay safe and keep being great you two!! - Carlos “the one with tattoos from the brewery” - not hector
